Education

Adult Education

Adult Sunday School classes are offered at 9:30 a.m. each week. A class for those fifty and over meets each Sunday in the Conference Room. They are studying Martin Luther's favorite book of the Bible, the Letter to the Romans. Another class for adults meets in the first classroom upstairs in the Fellowship Hall. This group is currently studying Paul's letters to the Thessalonians.

From September 7th through October 19th Pastor Meyer is leading a New Member Class. This course examines the basics of the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective. In addition to those interested in joining COR, those who wish to learn about our faith with no obligation to join as well as those who are already members are welcome in this class.

Also, a group meets in the church conference room every first and third Thursday at 9 AM for Bible Study.

Children's Education

  • Sunday School

Children are encouraged to attend Sunday School at 9:15 each Sunday morning. Classes are provided by church volunteers for children two years old through the sixth grade, and the COR Student Ministry provides spiritual education and activities for middle school and high school students. Sunday school releases in time for children to attend the 10:30 service with their parents.
  • Children's Church

Children's Church is held during the 10:30 service, just prior to the Pastor's sermon. Children through the third grade sit with the Pastor for a brief children's sermon, then leave to attend Children's Church, returniing just prior to communion to receive their blessing with their parents.

  • Communion Classes

Communion Classes are offered to fourth graders to prepare them to participate in Holy Communion celebrations.
  • Confirmation Classes

Confirmation classes are held throughout the school year for seventh and eighth graders. They provide instruction in the foundations of the Christian faith and prepare students to be adult members of the church. The program for 2007-2008 will consist of four hour blocks of time about once a month.
